One Day Ink and Bleach Workshop - Blackbird Song

Join professional artist and award winning tutor Jay Nolan-Latchford for this one day ink and bleach workshop.

With all your materials and equipment provided we’ll spend the morning experimenting and finding out about the unique properties of quink ink. We”ll introduce bleach and discover the magical qualities when combined with  ink. Later on we will take a look at creating texture with salt and beautiful finishes with metallic powders.

In the afternoon you will complete your own finished piece ‘Blackbird Song’. With step by step demonstrations and plenty of 1:1 guidance you’ll put into practice all the techniques from earlier in the day. Everyone will leave with a beautiful unique piece of art mounted and ready to frame. Refreshments are provided, bring along your own lunch or pre book at the cafe on site.

About the venue: Freya Jones is a traditional Bricks and Mortar shop where the main focus is the customer. Think an old fashioned sweet shop but full of the highest quality Artist Supplies, Spinning, Felting and Weaving Equipment and a riot of colour as far as the eye can see.Freya Jones is more than a shop, offering day courses, artists residencies and community groups a place to come together. The bright and airy perfetly designed studio area is where we will be working. Located next to The Obsidian Art Gallery, The Buckinghamshire Craft Guild, By Hand Books and an Independent Café, there is simply no place better to spend an art filled afternoon or day.
