Workshops

However you learn to paint with Jay you’re guaranteed to develop new skills, pick up some incredibly useful tips, produce finished paintings you’re really happy with and most importantly have fun. As an award winning tutor with years of experience Jay has developed a great teaching method which gently guides you through each project whether at a live workshop, via zoom or through her online tutorials.

LIVE WORKSHOPS

Jay teaches regular evening workshops at the Oliver and Hare in Leighton Buzzard as well as ‘pop up’ sessions across Bucks and Herts. All materials are provided and your first drink and snacks are on the house. These workshops are the perfect way to enjoy a relaxing evening with friends or come along and meet like minded people. There’s a huge variety of projects on offer and each time you will learn a new technique or subject… there really is something for everyone! You can find a full list of upcoming events here.

If you like the idea of painting in a group but can’t make a workshop why not organise a private event or even a ‘girls night in’. Jay can come to your home for a one off session or even regular lessons, for larger groups, parties or charity events you might want to book a venue and we can point you in the right direction. Contact us here.

As a former school teacher Jay really enjoys hosting workshops for younger people and once a month in Leighton Buzzard a group of 10-16 year olds get together for Art Club. These sessions are bookable in advance but there’s no need to do every one, kids can pick and choose. Each month Jay introduces new materials and techniques, using a huge range of quality brushes and paints for arty adventures. We’ve found these incredibly popular with young people who want to take art a bit further, those who are home schooled and creative kids who just can’t get enough of painting! You can find a full list of upcoming events here… look out for the Junior ones.

ONLINE LEARNING

Due to popular demand a few years ago Jay launched her online learning sessions. Her pre recorded tutorials bring the same successful step by step guidance straight to your home via Patreon. Each lesson is in real time and of course you can pause, rewind and watch as often as you like. There’s a library of over 50 videos and several new lessons added every month, they range from drawing and sketching, watercolours and inks and include short projects right up to full paintings. We have built a lovely community of online creatives and get together for monthly zoom art lessons (these are completely free and included in your monthly subscription) Jay is really happy to give feedback on your work and is easily contactable, you can share your art on our supporters Facebook group too. We really think that at £4.99 a month this is THE best value for online art learning with lifetime access to all previous videos and a wonderful range of projects for you to enjoy. It’s so easy to sign up and use, you can find the details here and also view a couple of complimentary videos. LINK

‘I've recaptured my love of painting in water colour and tried some new mediums too. My range of techniques has grown and, I'd like to think, improved. Jay is a fantastic artist and teacher!’

I used to go to Jays workshops but since relocating I’ve signed up to online lessons. It’s perfect for me as I work shifts and can learn when I have time. I absolutely LOVE the zoom sessions and have recommended Jay to lots of my friends’
