The Artists house ilfracombe
Our unique light and airy Victorian town house sits in a traditional seaside road just a few minutes walk from the heart of Ilfracombe's pretty harbour area. With stunning beaches and Exmoor right on the doorstep this is the perfect base from which to explore the beautiful North Devon coast.
The house sleeps eight comfortably, has a bathroom on every floor and is decorated white throughout making it a modern and welcoming space.
The Artists House, as you might expect is home to some original paintings, quirky prints and unusual accessories but rest assured, we have invested in some practical furniture, low maintenance wooden floors and wipe clean walls - your kids and dogs are welcome.
We have 3 floors:
Ground floor - Porch area, open plan lounge, dining area, kitchen and utility.
A light airy porch leads to a large hall and into the lounge with comfortable sofas, flat screen with DVD player, wifi and free view TV. Our dining area features a unique dining table hand made from a vintage door with seating for 8. The practical kitchen and utility room has a hob, double oven, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer as well as a small cloakroom with toilet and shower.
Stairs lead to a halfway landing with seating area and a door to our small rooftop garden. We've never felt the need for a garden as such with all that Ilfracombe has to offer but if you wish to sit outside please feel free. We prefer this to be an adult only area.
First Floor - 1 double bedroom, 1 twin room, bathroom.
The front bedroom has a feature window seat in the large bay a comfortable double bed and built in wardrobes.
A large family bathroom has a bath and separate shower
The other bedroom has twin beds a chest of drawers and a travel cot is also available upon request.
Second Floor - 2 double bedrooms and a bathroom.
One bedroom on this floor has a double bed and chest of drawers and the other a king size bed and a chest of drawers.
A large family bathroom has a bath and separate shower.

A real bonus for any harbour area property is a parking space and we have one right outside the house. We are in an unadopted road and the only way parking works is if we are courteous and considerate to our neighbours. On arrival please reverse your car down Gilbert Grove and park directly outside. Additional parking can be found in the public car parks nearby or on roads without restrictions in the area.
